Artist statement
I am an artist with an environmental sustainable perspective. I create 2D and 3D works using natural materials such as wool, silk, linen, seaweeds, salt crystals, bark and found objects. My practice employs a variety of traditional textile techniques that I use in untraditional ways in my sculptures and installations. I also paint and draw mainly using ink, charcoal and gouache on paper and cotton-paper.
I am a native of the fjords and mountainous landscape of the south-western coast of Norway. Nature, folklore and history are my main inspirations. My work is a way for me to make visible for my audience the invisible energies and connections that I find there.
I work closely with my fellow diploma-graduates from West Dean College.
